Join us for our annual celebration of the Moon at Luminous Books with a host of lunar activities!
From the Autumn Moon festivals in China and Japan to Galileo, Jules Verne and Kenneth Anger, the Moon has an enduring presence in folklore, art, music, film, science and literature and a mysterious influence on human imagination.
James Attlee will read from his fascinating book Nocturne: a journey in search of moonlight sharing his research into the meaning of moonlight in modern and ancient worlds.
A reading from Steve Moore’s Somnium conjures up the moon goddess Selene. Steve will be signing copies of his new book surrounded by moon footage from Super/Collider who present some incredible images of the surface of the moon from their project Apollo’s End.
We will also be serving up Moon Cakes, sky lanterns and Luminous Books’ collection of space books!
